WAEC 2012 RESULTS

The West African Examination Council WAEC had simply released the result on the performance of candidates for the May/June 2012 WAEC examination across West Africa.

The 2012 WAEC/SSCE (MAY/JUNE, 2012) exam results have been released by the West African Examination Council. 1,672,224 candidates, comprising 923,974 males and 748,250 females sat for the examination according to the stats released by the Head of National Office of WAEC, Dr Iyi Uwadiae, who briefed newsmen on the results.

According to him, the results of 112,000 people out of the 1,672,224 who sat for the exams, were withheld over examination malpractices. More so, 771,731 candidates were reported to have six credits and above; 952,156 candidates have five credits and above; while 649,156 candidates have credits in five subjects and above, including English Language and Mathematics.

This year’s 649,156 candidates with that record, represented 38.81 per cent and I can say that this is a marked improvement in the performance of the candidates,” he said.

Although higher than the previous year (2011), WAEC but expressed discontentment on the poor results recorded, See details below;


“Out of the overall variety of  WAEC candidates, 1,545,004 candidates, representing 90.10%, have their results totally released whereas 1,545,004 candidates, representing 80.90%, have their results totally released whereas a 150,874 candidates, representing 80.90%, have many of their subjects still being processed,” the report same.


The WAEC examination body conjointly declared that 112,000 candidates’ results, representing 6.70%, square measure being withheld in reference to numerous cases of examination malpractices.
